Ship Newbuilding
While we historically regard ourselves as supplier to larger ship yards for ship sections, hulls or superstructures, we have since established the company as a full service shipyard, having completed numerous new builds inhouse.
Three-masted barque "Alexander von Humboldt II" - 2011
Although new construction of tall ships is rather rare these days – in 2010, we took on the challenge of constructing the new three-mast barque „Alexander von Humboldt II.“
The 65-meter-long, 10-meter-wide hull of the ship was constructed at our Bremen facilities. While at our Bremerhaven facilities, the ship was equipped with masts, yardams, sails and its‘ final equipment.
Just like its‘ predecessor, the world-reknown old „Alex“, this brandnew three-mast barque will serve as a training ship aspring young navy cadets, providing sail training programs. Since 2015, the „Alex II“ once again sets the greatly admired, iconic green sails.
Ro-Ro Vessel "Kugelbake" - 2009
In 2009, this special-purpose vessel built for „Wulf Seetransporte GmbH & Co.KG“, named after Cuxhaven city’s landmark (a wooden, 30-meter tall maritime navigation marker) measures almost 80 meters in length and 19 meters in width and was built at our Bremen facilities.
The special manufacture ship was built for periodic transport of large overseas containers from Nordenham to Hamburg. The ship may also be repurposed as as transport vessel for the offshore sector.
