Ship Segment Construction

For decades, our core competence has been in the newbuilding of marine segments, superstructures and hulls for megayachts, cruise ships, naval vessels or specialized vessels.

In most instances, we complete steelwork solutions from a single source – from keel to funnel.

Hull Structure - Steel - Cruise Ship - 1.100 Tons - 2019

The depicted hull structure, weighing in at 1.100 tons, was built as shown at our manufacturing site in Bremen, Zur Westpier 40, January 2019 and again in September 2019.

The stabilizers mounted to this section – both starboard and port side – prevent the cruise ship’s roll (=rotation along the longitudinal axis) in order to minimize sea sickness in ship’s passengers.

The hull structure was transported by self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) from our production hall to adjoining pier and onto the pontoon of our subsidiary BVT Chartering und Logistics, and lastly – towed downstream Weser river for delivery.

Forecastle, Midship and Stern - Megayacht - 4.000 Tons - 2018

For the newbuilding of this megayacht in 2017/2018, approximately 4.000 tons of steel were used.

In 2017 and 2018, individual sections were built at our Bremen site and transported downstream Weser river by barge / barge crane to Lune Hall of HEINRICH RÖNNER GROUP in Bremerhaven. Here, the blocks were assembled into ship sections. Overall, three individual, large sections were fabricated.

Upon completion, forecastle, midship and stern were moved via self-propelled modular transporter (SPMTs) from Lune Hall to heavy-duty barge „Offshore BHV 1“ before being transported for final delivery to our customer by one of our subsidiaries, BVT Chartering and Logistics.
